"My name is Katie Mclellan. I was born in Calgary, Alberta and moved to BC around eight years ago. Since then, I've grown to love all the beautiful parks and nature here.
During the past few years, I've witnessed the Government and Community's effort to keep the parks and nature surrounding us healthy and beautiful. Seeing the efforts resulted in deciding that I wanted to be part of the solution in whatever way possible. However, this wasn't always easy to find jobs and opportunities of this type, it was difficult, and most of the time, I didn't feel that I was helping at anything. Then, I discovered YCCBC Kamloops, and it finally felt like I found an organization that I could be a part of and feel like I'm making a difference."
