The YCC Squamish team had the incredible opportunity to tour Alice Lake Provincial Park with Talaysay Tours as part of the start of their season.
Through the tour, the team learned about the local ecology and landscape through Indigenous teachings and gained a deeper understanding of the connection between Indigenous peoples and the land where they’ll be working this summer.
It was a meaningful way to kick off the season, and we’re grateful for the knowledge shared about Indigenous land stewardship, local history, and the impacts of climate change.
