Today marks the start of our 2026 season for several YCC programs, including Squamish. We'd like to introduce you to our program leads Nina and Christina.

Nina

Nina Sky Robertson is an interdisciplinary writer, artist, and project lead whose practice attends to climate storytelling, the deep roots of the climate crisis, land relations, and youth empowerment. She is a fifth-generation settler from the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and now lives in Squamish, BC, where you can find her climbing, reading, and trying to grow her capacity for delight.

Christina

Christina Stevenson holds a Master of Business Administration and brings federal-level experience in natural resources and clean fuels, with a focus on advancing practical, sustainable solutions. Her work is deeply motivated by the belief that a strong relationship with the natural world carries a responsibility to give back, and that small, thoughtful actions can collectively create significant progress in climate action.

Originally from Sutton, Ontario, Christina is now based in Squamish, where she lives and works on the traditional, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. Outside of her professional work, Christina finds joy in harnessing her creativity through making music and art, and moving her body through snowboarding, hiking, and baseball. Simply put - if she spent any time outdoors, she had a good day.

We're excited to have these amazing Co-Leads on our team.

We are committed to maintaining and growing respectful relationships in every region where we work.

YCCBC recognizes that colonization has deeply disrupted Indigenous Peoples’ relationships with their lands, communities, and cultural practices. We understand that the climate crisis is rooted in ongoing systems of colonialism and resource extraction—systems that became possible through the dispossession of Indigenous Peoples from their homelands.

We believe that Indigenous sovereignty is essential to building just futures and liveable worlds. YCCBC is committed to listening, learning, and walking in solidarity with Indigenous communities and to supporting Indigenous-led climate action across the province.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions.

ABOUT US

Youth Climate Corps BC develops the climate leaders of tomorrow by training a workforce of young people who know how to work together, communicate powerfully, and get things done on projects that contribute to climate resilience in communities across British Columbia.
