Special Announcement - Youth Climate Corps BC Receives New Support!

This support means that more young people across British Columbia will have the opportunity to train for careers that help communities reduce emissions and adapt to our changing climate.

The funding, part of Budget 2024, includes $3 million to expand our program to more communities across the province. This expansion will allow us to work with local governments and First Nation communities on projects focusing on wildfire risk reduction, local food security, energy efficiency, ecosystem restoration, and community engagement.

We are more motivated than ever to continue our mission of empowering youth to take positive action on climate change. However, this is just the beginning. We believe that with increased support, we can further expand our reach and impact, bringing us closer to our vision of a clean and sustainable future for all.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who believe in our work and support us. A special thank you to George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, and Brittny Anderson, MLA for Nelson-Creston, for their continued support and advocacy.

This is a pivotal moment for us, and we look forward to the journey ahead. Together, we can create meaningful change and build a more resilient province for future generations.

Keep an eye open for job postings as we grow Youth Climate Corps BC, and please reach out if you have any program ideas for your community.

Thank you for being part of the Youth Climate Corps BC community.
