Recently, Youth Climate Corps BC (YCCBC)’s staff and board members gathered in Vancouver for a strategic retreat to reflect on our progress and plan for our future.

YCCBC has grown dramatically over the past few years, and taking time to strategize about our direction is an important part of ensuring we remain well-equipped to meet the needs of youth and communities.

By bringing together staff and board perspectives, we were able to gain important insight on where we’ve been, and where we want to go next as an organization supporting youth-led climate action.

Key Priorities for 2026 - 2029

Through this process, we’ve identified several priorities that will guide our work over the next three years:

  • Strengthen and expand programs to support youth climate leadership and community-based climate action.

  • Support youth career pathways through training, mentorship, and meaningful work experience.

  • Build sustainable funding to support long-term stability and growth.

  • Advance equity and inclusive leadership across our organization and programs.

  • Strengthen relationships and partnerships with communities and organizations.

We’re excited about our 2026-2029 strategic direction and the opportunities ahead. Thank you to the staff, board members, partners, and youth who have shaped our work every day.

The platform is designed in a clean and simple way that makes navigation very easy. All features are clearly visible and accessible. I was able to explore everything without confusion. The performance is consistent and reliable. It’s a good choice for users who prefer uncomplicated systems.

This feels like a fresh step with clear thinking behind it. Taking time to pause and plan shows care for the future, not just quick moves. The focus on youth and real work paths is a good sign. Growth like this needs steady hands and simple direction, much like a Novel proofreading service that shapes things quietly and keeps everything on track.

We are committed to maintaining and growing respectful relationships in every region where we work.

YCCBC recognizes that colonization has deeply disrupted Indigenous Peoples’ relationships with their lands, communities, and cultural practices. We understand that the climate crisis is rooted in ongoing systems of colonialism and resource extraction—systems that became possible through the dispossession of Indigenous Peoples from their homelands.

We believe that Indigenous sovereignty is essential to building just futures and liveable worlds. YCCBC is committed to listening, learning, and walking in solidarity with Indigenous communities and to supporting Indigenous-led climate action across the province.

ABOUT US

Youth Climate Corps BC develops the climate leaders of tomorrow by training a workforce of young people who know how to work together, communicate powerfully, and get things done on projects that contribute to climate resilience in communities across British Columbia.
