We are excited to share that our Executive Director, Ben Simoni, and Director of Marketing and Communications, Eymie Labbe, are in Ottawa and will be at an upcoming event hosted by the Canadian Climate Institute titled Climate Policy in a Changing World.

Date: February 25, 2026

Time: 3:30 - 7:30pm ET

Location: O’Born Room, National Arts Centre, Ottawa

This gathering will bring together policymakers, researchers, and climate practitioners to explore how climate policy must evolve in response to shifting political, economic, and environmental realities.

Ben and Eymie’s participation follows the federal recognition of a youth-led climate action workforce as an essential component of Canada’s climate future. At YCCBC, we have seen firsthand over the past five years how investing in young people strengthens local economies, builds community resilience, and accelerates climate solutions. Bringing those experiences into national policy conversations ensures that youth voices are part of shaping the path forward.

The whole YCCBC team is proud to have YCCBC represented in Ottawa and is grateful for opportunities to contribute to discussions that will influence Canada’s trajectory on climate.

If you’re attending the event, we’d love to connect. Stay tuned for reflections and insights from Eymie and Ben following the event.

We are committed to maintaining and growing respectful relationships in every region where we work.

YCCBC recognizes that colonization has deeply disrupted Indigenous Peoples’ relationships with their lands, communities, and cultural practices. We understand that the climate crisis is rooted in ongoing systems of colonialism and resource extraction—systems that became possible through the dispossession of Indigenous Peoples from their homelands.

We believe that Indigenous sovereignty is essential to building just futures and liveable worlds. YCCBC is committed to listening, learning, and walking in solidarity with Indigenous communities and to supporting Indigenous-led climate action across the province.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions.

ABOUT US

Youth Climate Corps BC develops the climate leaders of tomorrow by training a workforce of young people who know how to work together, communicate powerfully, and get things done on projects that contribute to climate resilience in communities across British Columbia.
