YCCBC in Conversation: Listen to Our Feature on Each for All
What does it take to turn climate concern into meaningful action? In a recent episode of Each for All, Youth Climate Corps BC (YCCBC) features in a conversation on youth employment, community resilience, and the role young people can play in building a more liveable future.
The 54-minute episode explores how YCCBC connects young people with paid, hands-on climate work in their communities. Host Sandy Goldman speaks with YCCBC Kamloops Co-Leads Ravi and Emerson, alongside Executive Director Ben Simoni, about the program’s work and impact across BC. From wildfire risk reduction and ecosystem restoration to energy efficiency and food security, the conversation highlights how YCCBC teams work with local governments, non-profit organizations, and First Nations to address community-specific climate priorities.
The conversation also looks at how the program began, how communities can become partners, and what it means for young people to contribute directly to climate solutions while gaining valuable skills, experience, and career connections.
Interest in these opportunities continues to grow. During the 2026 hiring season, YCCBC received more than 600 applications for approximately 60 placements, reflecting the strong demand among young people for meaningful employment that makes a difference.
Whether you’re part of a YCCBC team, a community partner, or simply interested in the work happening across the province, this episode offers an opportunity to hear more about the people, partnerships, and purpose behind the program.
