YCCBC & The City Council Meeting

As the City of Vancouver is not on track to meet its goal to reduce GHGs by 50% by 2030, city staff presented a report with accelerated and additional measures to cut carbon pollution in support of the Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP). This report went to the council on June 14th. “I went to speak to the council in support of the recommendations and to tell them we are worried they are not on track because climate decisions made today will impact young people throughout their lives, so they/we have to act now to protect that future. I also spoke to them about how organizations like YCCBC are a crucial piece in moving towards their climate goals and that we would love to partner with the city to scale up their efforts.”
