Position: Program Development Intern
Location: Remote, anywhere in Canada
Term: Contract for June & July 2022, possibility of extension

The Program Development Intern will work in a team to develop programming to implement Youth Climate Corps in communities across the province of British Columbia.  The Program Development Intern will research and manage the information for the expansion and implementation of Youth Climate Corps. We encourage all staff to think strategically, brainstorm, and plan with the team. The Program Development Intern must have strong English writing skills and an understanding of climate action and justice.. 

 

The Program Development Intern will have to be a compassionate and active communicator and connect and communicate with colleagues and partners remotely and in person. The role is remote, and there is plenty of flexibility for self-directed work and schedule. Mentorship and coaching are a strong theme in Youth Climate Corps activities and programs, including working with administrative staff. There is a culture of continual learning, and there are opportunities for mentorship, both as a mentee and mentor.

Climate Action Program Development Responsibilities

Assist the team lead in researching, managing and analyzing the information that supports the development of a toolbox for communities to implement Youth Climate Corps; 

Help design the curriculum from the evaluation of existing program;

 

Research trends in instructional methods and educational technology; 

 

Develop procedures for Youth Climate Corps coordinator to implement the curriculum;

 

Produce and edit written report to optimize Youth Climate Corps credibility; 

Climate Action Program Development Qualifications

Must be under 30 years old, for funding purposes;

 

Excellent written and verbal communication;

 

Experienced in program development; 

 

Experienced in complete project management from beginning to end; 

 

Knowledge of climate justice issues;

 

Highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects based on priority;

 

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

 

Detail-oriented and motivated to learn upcoming trends.
